Dear Delta Gamma,

Dear Delta Gamma,

Coming into college, I was so nervous, but also so excited for something new, and to step out of my comfort zone. I knew I wanted to get involved on campus & join organizations, however, I had never really considered greek life. I didn’t know much about sororities, besides the stereotypes. During welcome weekend, a few of the girls that lived on my floor decided they were going to check out the sorority carnival, and I decided to go with them just for fun. At the carnival, my opinions on everything changed. I met so many genuine, sweet, amazing girls who shared the same interests as I did. After contemplating signing up for recruitment, I decided to just do it. What have I got to lose, right?

Fast forward, I ended up falling in love with Delta Gamma. Everyone I met through recruitment was so genuine, relatable, inspiring and driven. I received a bid, and ran home to DG on BID day. That day I already met one of the girls who would end up being one of my very best friends/roomies to this day. (Shoutout to Suzy-q ily) I lived in the house my sophomore year and made even more connections with the most amazing group of girls. Through the ups and downs, they always had my back and I had theirs. Whether it be work stress, boy drama, or grades, I could always count on them to cheer me up & give me advice. There was never a dull moment living in the deeg; I don’t think there was ever 5 minutes that would go buy without laughter. I wish I had appreciated living in the house more when I was there because looking back, that was one of the best experiences that i’ll never forget.

When I think about and reflect on all that DG has given me, I truly couldn’t be more thankful and appreciative. I want to start giving back more to the chapter & because it has given me so much. I wish I had gotten more involved earlier, but it’s never too late and my biggest advice to new members would be to get involved early. “You get back what you put in” is so true. Without the constant love and support from my sisters, I don’t think i’d be the person I am today. They truly make me the best version of myself and empower me. I’ve gained so much confidence & happiness, and met the girls I know will one day be my bridesmaids. We all push each other to always do better & strive for nothing but the best. Thanks for all the love, laughs, and endless positivity sistas<3

Love you all so much & don’t know where i’d with without ya!

XO, Belma <333
