Why DG?

I came to college undecided, not knowing what I want to do with my life and it was the scariest feeling. I felt very lost not knowing what I wanted to do while all my friends did. I was really struggling to find my purpose in life. The first few weeks of college were very hard for me. I was extremely anxious and didn’t have many friends. My sister, whom I am very close with and who is also in DG, luckily goes to Kent as well so she made it feel more like home.

I never once thought about joining a sorority especially my first year. I thought about all the stereotypes and it just made me nervous about joining. As time passed, my sister and friends kept telling me to just give it a try and go through recruitment to get a feel for things and to see what it was like. I decided to go through and let me tell you, it was the best decision I ever made.

A few weeks passed, and I ran home to such wonderful women who I am now lucky enough to call my sisters. I truly couldn’t be more thankful to be surrounded by such strong, genuine, and inspiring women. I am so glad I stepped out of my comfort zone and went through.

DG has inspired me to be the best version of myself everyday. Without Delta Gamma, I would still be a shy, timid girl who isn’t confident with herself at all. DG has turned me into such a strong, confident, and independent women.

I want to thank Delta Gamma for all the memories so far this year. Thank you for leading me to life-long friends. I am honored to be apart of such an amazing chapter that will always hold a special place in my heart.

LITB,

Kim
