We are in Colombia this Summer for my second year (my dads 7th year) with Healing the Children and we do surgeries on pediatric burn victims! A lot of the families here are unable to afford proper care to heal their burn injuries so we give them free surgeries using donated supplies! We work along side of Unima which is a colombian based organization. A lot of the kids are unable to move their arms,legs or fingers because they are burnt together so we do surgery to separate or release the tension so they can move properly! We also do children who are born with hand and foot deformities, like extra digits, which can make it harder for them to have functioning hands or feet! It’s an amazing experience and helps so many people live better lives, become more confident, and move better!!
