We'd like to give the warmest welcome and congratulations to Stef Davis and Janson Smith, Gamma Epsilon's newest Anchormen! We chose these men to represent our chapter in the traditional sweetheart role, and we couldn't be more excited to give them this title.
Stef Davis is a sophomore member of Alpha Tau Omega (ΑΤΩ). He's somewhat of a Gamma E "legacy", as his brother, Alek, was Anchorman from 2019-2020, and he is the 6th consecutive brother of ΑΤΩ to be voted Anchorman! Stef is always willing to give us a helping hand, whether it's moving ladies into the Deeg or painting a part of our parking lot for Bid Day. He's the handiest man we know. He's also not afraid to show some love for his friends in DG with a big hug and a box of donuts.
Stef shares, "Winning Anchorman has always been on my mind since I first joined ΑΤΩ. My brother won it in 2019, and that is something that really pushed me to become more of an outgoing person. That's also when I met the Delta Gammas. Winning means so much to me because I love the DG girls, and they’re some of the best friends that I have ever met in my life. Their chapter as a whole is, in my opinion, the best on campus because of how well-rounded it is and how things are handled. It’s just the best, no doubt about it. Being Anchorman and being able to represent Delta Gamma is huge. I’m so excited for what the future holds. I cannot wait to do so many things with all of the girls, and they are what drives me to represent them in the best possible way. I love them so much, and I’m proud to be their Anchorman."
Janson Smith is a sophomore member of Sigma Chi (ΣΧ). He is the second consecutive brother of ΣΧ to be voted Anchorman. Jan is a pure ball of energy, always bringing unmatched enthusiasm and passion the second he walks through the doors of the Deeg. Janson is always making new friends within our chapter, and he will never leave without giving every single one of us a bone-crushing hug. He also made us a blanket that was accidentally stitched with "ΔL", but we won't talk about that.
Janson writes, "Delta Gamma, the women of the anchor, my friends. Well, now they’re my friends. At first, I wasn’t so sure. The first time I met a DG, they tackled me to the ground during our Derby Days philanthropy (yes, I still have the scar). I learned to see this competitive spirit as a sign of how driven, steadfast, and dedicated you all are. After many days and hours of the night spent in the company of these women, I saw myself admiring more and more the values that remained constant between them and the feeling of worth they leave with people. These are the girls that always show up, and these are the girls that gave me my friends: the greatest women on campus. A nomination to represent these ladies means an opportunity to support their passion, foster that drive, and pour into the community of women that persists through adversity. They call each other to higher minds and empower the people around them to do and be good. From the seniors who welcomed me into Greek life, to the freshman to whom I now get to return the favor, there is a special something about a DG. I am beyond proud and grateful to wear this title. I will strive to be an anchor and representation of hope to those who do so for so many others. Gamma Epsilon, thank you for your kindness, thank you for your vision, thank you for my sweetheart, thank you for my friends, thank you for endless opportunities for growth and even more to come. To the moon!"
The passion and support we receive from Stef and Janson mean the world to us as a chapter. We are so proud to have two men representing Gamma Epsilon with so much passion and love for us all. Cheers to the newest Anchormen of Gamma E! ♡
