Come one, come all to the greatest show of all: the CΔΓnival.
This past Sunday, we welcomed 31 show-stopping women into our chapter with a Bid Day that was sweeter than cotton candy. Gamma Epsilon had prepared for weeks for this day, and we couldn't be happier to say it was all a success.
Our day started off early at the Deeg, as everyone was dressing in their best and most colorful carnival-wear. Wigs were worn and glitter was poured. The women who were assigned bid day buddies got the rundown of which new member they were welcoming, and they all got the cutest ticket stub sign to welcome our new women home. Around 11 AM, DG was off to the Student Green, screaming cheers of every kind. Everyone on Fraternity Circle could hear the boom of our lovely chant, "DG girls are fun and sweet, we're the best, we can't be beat! Come aboard and join our crew, DG is the one for you!"
Once we got to the Student Green, we lined up with the rest of the Panhellenic sororities to await our new members. The excitement was high, and it reached its peak as each new member raced to her new home. After not having an in-person Bid Day for over a year, seeing the smiles on our new members' faces and the excitement of each active member as they ran home was a memory we'll cherish for a lifetime.
Back at the Deeg, our carnival was in full force. We had a bouncy castle, carnival games, and a DJ set up for our celebration. We also had plenty of pizza and carnival treats to snack on. When we asked our new members what their favorite part of Bid Day was, so many of them said the dancing, and we couldn't agree more. Gamma E got moves.
These pictures speak for themselves about the day we had, but we want to say again just how amazing it was to celebrate inviting 31 new women into our chapter and celebrating in person all together at last. This truly is the greatest show, and we are so grateful for these bonds.
LITB,
Gamma Epsilon
