The year 2020 was full of ups and downs, wins and losses. Despite the uncertainty of the past year, the Gamma Epsilon Chapter of Delta Gamma gained 42 new members in the fall. These amazing women took on recruitment remotely, dazzling us with their bright and friendly personalities all the way through. After recruitment and a drive-by parade on Bid Day, MC '20 started going on Sailor Sister Dates with potential big sisters and new friends. The girls finally met their bigs at Big and Little Reveal on November 6 at the Deeg. On November 14, the member class of Fall 2020 was initiated through a remote ceremony, and they became official sisters of Delta Gamma!
We welcome all 42 initiated new members from Fall 2020:
Since initiation, these women have formed new friendships, learned more about their sisterhood, grown academically, and more. Seven members of MC '20 have even taken on positions for the year 2021, and we couldn't be more proud of them!
The Gamma Epsilon Chapter of Delta Gamma wishes to recognize the achievements of these new members who have taken on positions:
Madison Haas, Director of Fundraising
Sidney Howard, Director of New Member Communication
Emma Joffrion, Director of Apparel
Izzy Leone, Director of Art
Jill Matuga, Director of Archives
Bella Palowitz, Director of Public Relations
Emma Rees, Director of Senior Programming
We are incredibly proud of these women for stepping up to take on a leadership position so soon after joining our sisterhood. We can't wait to see what they do!
Two sisters, Elizabeth Hindulak and Maizy Joye, chimed in about the newly initiated member class. Elizabeth, who was Vice President of Membership during the Fall 2020 recruitment period, said: "With our huge success of 42 beautiful, encouraging, and genuine new members, I could not have been any more proud of this chapter! The smiles and love I witnessed on Bid Day while driving around to each new member's home is a memory I will cherish forever! The member class of Fall 2020 is full of amazing and inspiring young women that I know will make a huge impact on our chapter, and I cannot wait to see all they accomplish not only in DG, but at and beyond Kent State as well."
Maizy, who served as the Director of New Members, added, "Being able to guide our new sisters through their new member period in Delta Gamma was very special to me because I felt like I could have a direct impact on them as they enter a sisterhood that lasts a lifetime. I got to not only meet and take my little but also bond with a lot of the girls within the class. I loved being someone they could go to for help!"
Everyone knows how hard it's been not being able to meet up and host events in person. But we are so proud of MC '20 for staying positive in every situation we've been through, and we know the patience and dedication will pay off soon. We can't wait for all of our sisters to be back together in person, especially with our sisters who are living out of state. Delta Gamma is what brings us all together, no matter the distance, and we couldn't be more thankful.
L.I.T.B ♥
